This book is shaped around the pedagogy of engaging students-Brian Cambourne’s Learning Condition, ‘Engaging’ … E n g a g I n g W r i t e r s. It is a comprehensive resource for teachers wanting their children to become confident, diverse writers no matter the circumstance.
Text Structures and Language features has an extensive purpose, which is to vastly widen teachers and children’s writing/language knowledge and expertise. Its intended audiences are early years to advancing writers, year 6 and may be beyond (depending on the children’s experience).
Language Features encompasses learning about grammatical structures, clauses, phrases, sentences and paragraphs and grammatical forms (nouns, verbs, adverbs etc.) being taught within the eight Text Structures. As teachers and writers dip further into this emailed book, they will find interesting and stimulating ideas developed when working as an Elementary teacher, long-time workshop presenter, Literacy/pedagogical consultant–and a tutor/ lecturer of Secondary pre-service, university students.
